Oppose Government Healthcare

There is one good reason that politicians are scumbags.  They were voted in to office (usually) by the people they are supposed to represent, and in order to keep their jobs, they are supposed to properly represent the people that support them.  This crap about the government-run healthcare system is one shining example of how they are failing.

I have actually looked online to try to find examples of why we should support this initiative, but other than news stories about why Obama says it’s a “good thing” I can’t find much.  Now try looking online to find examples of why we should NOT support this, and you will become overwhelmed with reasons.

So many people oppose this in so many different ways, I can’t believe that our government is still trying to force this down our throats.  Listen to the voice of the people, you idiots!  Stop trying to tell us how much we want it and how good it is for us.  We are telling you we don’t want it.  We are saying to stop this.  Even entire states are voting in new refferendums in order to give whole states the right to deny this federal program.   You can look to see if your state has taken any steps to enforce the 10th Amendment and stay a sovereign state.

LISTEN UP ALREADY!  Stop this.  I know you will never listen to me, a peon, a normal US citizen, but STOP.  In case you couldn’t tell already, the majority of the country does not want this horrible “healthcare” system you are proposing.  We don’t want it.  Hint hint – we don’t want it.   It doesn’t make it any better when you are berate people for speaking out in a Town Hall meeting; this is just “this short” of violating our first amendment rights.

So far, the only people that I have seen that are in favor of this new system are illegal aliens.  You know, the ones that are already getting free healthcare.  Well, it’s free for them, my insurance payments and taxes cover their bill.  It’s not really a change for them.

This is one big reason that politicians have such a bad name.  Too many say they support the people that vote them in to office.  But then they turn a blind eye towards our actual wishes.  Too many bow down to our Socialist president and blindly follow whatever he tells them to.  Too few actually have the cajones to stand up and say “NO, that’s not what my people want!”

To those few politicans who have values, and some type of a moral compass, I applaud you.  THANK YOU!  Thank you for doing your job.

Welfare and food stamps are killing our country

As I hear people say our country is becoming socialist and Marxist, I can’t think but help that we are doing it to ourselves.  Our government is seeming to feed off the desires of needy people.

People complain that the nation and the states are being “nannies” and passing laws “for our own good” but yet they are things that should not be done.  However, many of these same people are the ones that want MORE government intrusion into their lives.

Some people I know live entirely off the money taken from me and the people I work with.  These taxes pay for their lives.  Some do not work because of medical conditions, and some don’t work because they are white and don’t speak spanish.  If they were of another color, the would fill a quota for the company, so they would get a job.  Due to massive amounts of immigrants (legal or not) that don’t speak a word of English, an unwritten policy prevents them from getting even a job at walmart or McDonalds.  Some just don’t want to have a job, so they sit around all day and soak up benefits.  They know that having more kids will get them more money from generous Uncle Sam.  Others get assistance because their children have a mental “condition” that requires a lot of doctor’s attention.

So…  They proved that they can produce offspring.  They can’t get, or don’t want to get a job.  They are illegal drug users that can’t pass a piss test to get a job.  They may or may not have mental issues.  With all of these qualifications, they are now approved to get welfare.  The can get food stamps.  They can get different types of Social Security.  They get cash assistance.  Their entire life is financed by me.

So why isn’t there any type of incentive to QUIT mooching from the system?  From my viewpoint, they are rewarded and encouraged to be couch potatoes.  They pay rent, they make car payments, they buy food and clothes, they buy electronics.  They can become masters of frugality becuase they don’t make a lot of money, but enough to just get by. Rent-a-center and Goodwill are kept in business by them.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that these assistance programs should be completely shut down.  Sometimes, they do work the way they were intended to.  They sometimes provide temporary relief for a struggling family.  The people work their butts off to take care of themselves and get off of the system.  They are thankful for the help, but they have enough pride to sustain themselves.  They don’t want the government to be their mommy and daddy.

There are so many people that are receiving assistance, they obviously don’t want the free money to go away.  They like their freebies.  Thesse people, and the people like them who want this system of full assistance to stay, are the ones that are ensuring that our country gets closer to a full socialist society.

Out of pride, I have not taken a penny of government assistance since I became an adult.  When I was a child, my family got food stamps for a few months, but we fought to move up and take care of ourselves.  There are times in my adult life that I qualified to get free handouts, but I didn’t take it.  I know where dependance leads, and I didn’t want to start.  I busted my butt to support myself.

Do us all a favor.  Encourage those you know on government assistance to take care of themselves.  Why don’t you help them out too?  Yes, I know, you’re paying for them through your taxes already.  Help them out with cash or food.  Help them get a job.  Help them to help themselves and carry their own weight.

I saw a post on the ‘best’ list at Cave Canum (look for post # 43282) regarding a dad who wanted to show his school-aged son what socialism is really about since his son was so adamant it was a good thing.  The son worked hard while his brother slacked off.  The son that worked ended up having to give away most of his pay for the job to represent how much he would have so surrender in taxes to take care of those who won’t work.  I think he got the point.  I initially laughed, then got sad when I saw the ugly truth in it.

Bring This Diesel To The USA, Ford!

So Ford has this new car coming out, and it’s got an awesome MPG rating.  This new Fiesta gets a rated 65 MPG.  Holy Crap!!!  For a five passenger, two-door sub compact car, that is incredible.  And what kind of power plant is hiding under the hood on this monster?  All 89 horsepower coming from a 1.6 litre turbodiesel.  Yes, a diesel.

Ford’s autoshow site lists some intriguing statistics on the car:

The heart of the Fiesta ECOnetic is Ford’s 1.6-liter four-cylinder TDCi turbodiesel engine, which is rated in the U.K. at the equivalent of U.S. 51 mpg in the city, 74 mpg on the highway and 64 mpg on the combined European driving cycle. The 89-hp engine also emits an ultra-low 98g/km of CO2.

Well guess what?  Since it’s a diesel, Ford is not making any plans to bring it to the USA.  Well, not in that configuration anyway.  They will wait until they put a gasoline engine in it, which will cut the mileage in half.  I wish I was kidding, but according to an report from wired.com, Ford is thinking that people are scared of diesel, so they don’t think it will sell.  Come on, Ford, are you serious?  At about the same size and price of other high-mileage cars, this Fiesta will not have anything to set itself apart from the others.  Good job being average, Ford.  Good job not making a name for yourself.  It’s a good thing that your business isn’t in dire straits of running itself into the ground!  Oh wait.  Never mind.  You arleady are.

The USA is already importing a lot of diesel-powered vehicles, including small cars. They aren’t all 18-wheelers.  How are we supposed to get a better infrastructure of fuel delivery systems if we don’t have the cars to feed?  I know, it’s the whole chicken-egg debacle.  Neither one can exist without the other.  How are we supposed to have more non-gasoline-powered vehicles without a good way to fuel them?  How can we have effective non-gasoline fueling locations without the consumer demand?

Hey Ford.  Wake up.  We need cars with better mileage.  Quit acting so scared.  You really need something to boost your sales.  Bring this car, or another like it, to the US market.

Drity Stories

Are they really just stories, or are they pornography for the brain?  Different strokes for different folks, they say.

I have tried my hand at writing some of them and have come to limited success, but only according to random people online.  So my value as a “smut author” (as I have been called for writing these stories) is entirely based on the opinions of a few dozen readers on a few websites that cater to these types of stories.

On these same adult story websites, I have read through a number of other stories and was actually rather disappointed in what I found.  With a few exceptions, there were roughly a dozen or so concepts, all written about the same type of way.  The physical aspects of the characters were usually about the same, and the primary difference was just in the names these people had.  This lack of originality was one of the factors that encouraged me to try to write some myself.  Looking back, I think some of the negative reviews I received was because I broke away from “the norm” several times.  Not all the women had blonde or red hair, nor did they all wear 44DDD bras.  Not all the men were massively muscled, or had an exotic accent, or a 18 inch “love tool.”  Fine, they weren’t porn actors / actresses, the were not surgically enhanced, they were just, ummm, seemingly normal people.  Some variations would be nice.

All that aside (like me bitching about bad reviews), I am still kind of curious as to why written porn is not looked upon as much as visual porn (pictures & movies).  From the stories that have the best reviews from the most people, my “normal people, mostly normal sex” stories was too boring.  The best reviews come from the ones relating to rape, incest, bondage, hypnotism, and orgies.  Visual depictions of these same subjects are usually regarded as some of the least politically correct topics.  I can see why *showing* a rape is not good, even when the subjects are paid actors.  However, reading these same topics is only words on paper, and is therefore OK?  What is really worse?  Watching something is easy on the brain – you don’t have to ‘work’ to observe the action, you just look.  On the other hand, reading this same material lets you make these same stories come to life in your mind.  You put faces, bodies, and voices to the action.  You no longer notice that “the 18 year-old babysitter” is a 30-year old woman with that looks young.  That babysitter is the actual babysitter!  Or the girl down the street.  The “girl next door” is no longer a 5-year veteran of XXX action – she honestly *IS* the girl next door.

Whether you equate pornography as a sexual aid, or a replacement for the physical act of sex, it is still involved with physical reationships.  Porn’s listing as a “danger” or “bad thing” is debatable, but used under the wrong circumstances, by the wrong people, it can damage relatonships.  Specifically, the part of giving substance to the written word.  Most people cannot read something describing physical activity without picturing that same activity.  And what better actor / actress to use than someone the reader is already familiar with?  It’s kind of hard to replace a video or still picture with another body or face.  Most videos and pictures don’t use many special effects, so most things are done live, and not modified (much) after shooting.  The text-based format though, has no such limitations.  Anything can be done, regardless if it can be physically done or not.  While making your imagination work is usually good for you, is it just as good if it is used in a way that can be forming a bad habit, or twisting the realm of realism compared to fantasy life?

Some people like reading these stories because it describes fantasies that they would never try in real life.  They live vicariously through these words.  I have seen where men get in trouble by their women (usually a wife) for watching porn.  However, the female would react in various ways, none of which was positive.  On the other had, these same women see nothing wrong with reading porn.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying we should get rid of it, regulate it, etc.  Leave it in place, and let everyone who wants to enjoy it do so.  It is still porn, don’t try classifying it as something else.

Equal Rights for Flashing

At a party recently, a few girls flashed their boobs to their friends.  A few guys got a view too, but no one really seemed to mind – especially the guys.  The girls didn’t think it was a big deal, they said “it’s just boobs.”  This started the comparison questions.  Not an argument, no attitudes, just confused. Alcohol was involved, so it got silly too…  (no, not like that!)

When I asked my girl if she would be upset if I flashed my cock-n-balls, she said she would.  She equated it to her giving everyone a view by lifting her dress (sans panties).  Ok, a front view of what is under the undergarments.  Just the reproductive organs  That’s equal.  How about mooning?  Just the cheeks, no hidden surprises.  Well, a rear end is a rear end.  That’s equal.  So what about the boobs?  No, moobs don’t count.  Sorry.  No one likes those.

So what’s the equality for flashing boobs?  Are guys just S.O.L. when it comes to a quick flash?  The girls at the party seemed to think boobs were OK, but nothing else.  I heard some comments about wanting some guys to flash, but their girlfriends immediately said ‘no’ – these were the same girls who had just flashed other people.  It comes down to the equality part they said.  A boob shot does not equal either a crotch shot or a  rear end.  It’s OK for one gender but not the other?

So why is it that it’s OK for girls to flash, but not guys?  In most states, it’s illegal to do, no matter what your gender.  But it’s usually overlooked.  Girls get cheered on by the guys for the show, but guys have girls calling the cops to get arrested for indecent exposure.
